A List of Commonly Used Terms in Blood Banking

Quality Management

The overall process of ensuring that an organization (a blood organization in our context) operates in a way that ensures maximum quality in all aspects of its operation. Quality management is the “big picture” view of making sure that an organization analyzes all of its internal functions and interactions with customers and optimizes them to provide the best possible products. I mention it here because quality management is often confused with quality assurance and quality control.
