Hi, Osler Survivor!

So, you've lived through the Osler course. Congratulations! My guess is that your head is positively stuffed with an enormous number of facts that you are quite certain you won't remember tomorrow! That's OK. Trust me. It's NORMAL!

My guess is that you have come to this site either to heckle me or to find out more about Blood Banking. I'm amazed that you're interested in either after sitting through approximately eighteen hours of my rambling! Actually, I'm amazed you're still alive! I am in process of adding new stuff to this site as often as I can, and I have started by placing some information about transfusion reactions on the site. Check it out here.

If you want, you can also take some review quizzes on this site. I have written numerous review questions covering many areas of blood banking. A sampling of these questions can be found in the BBGuy quiz section. Many of these questions are the same or similar to those we went over during the evening sessions at the course. Check back often, because I am updating these as often as I can.

If it has been a while since you attended the course, you can also download the latest versions of my lecture notes, as well as some other updated and/or clarified things I have written.

Finally, thanks very much for sitting through my lectures! I truly value the interaction that I have with people who attend the course, and I hope that I didn't bore you too much. Please remember me after you take your examination. Let me be clear: I'm NOT asking you to tell me any exact questions from the boards. But remember, if there was something in my lectures that was of value to you, it was likely at least partly because someone else clued me in that I was either way off or right on target. You can email me through my contact page.
