Febrile Nonhemolytic Reactions

TREATMENT: Treatment for febrile reactions, once the diagnosis is made, is really quite simple.

Most patients probably would be fine if you did absolutely nothing, but if they are uncomfortable, simply giving acetaminophen is usually enough to ease their symptoms.

Occasionally, individuals with severe febrile reactions may require something a bit stronger, like meperidine (Demerol), but that is distinctly uncommon, in my experience.

Now that we know all about what makes febrile reactions tick, let's go on and see how we can actually prevent the darn things!
